Most blocking hiccups happen when Apple’s Screen Time loses its connection to Limit. These five steps fix nearly all of them.
You’ll find the same tools in the app: open Sessions and tap the ? button.
Step 1
The connection between Limit and Apple’s Screen Time sometimes gets lost. In Limit’s Help screen, tap Reset blocking, wait a few seconds and check that your apps and websites are blocked or unblocked correctly.
Step 2
If resetting didn’t help, review the apps selected in your block. Other screen time apps on your phone can block apps too, so check those as well.
Step 3
Force close the Limit app and open it again to reset the connection.
Step 4
If blocking breaks several times in a short period, Apple’s Screen Time has probably become unstable. In Limit’s Help screen, tap Reconnect, then Continue and Authorize, and check your blocking again.
Step 5
If none of the steps above worked, turn your iPhone or iPad off and on again.
Limit can’t block anything until you allow Screen Time access. If the prompt doesn’t appear, turn Limit on under Settings › Screen Time › Apps with Screen Time Access.
Screen Time access requires a device passcode. Set one under Settings › Face ID & Passcode, then try again in Limit.
If your device is part of a family group, the family organizer may have to approve Screen Time access for Limit.
Manage or cancel Limit Pro in the Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions. To restore a purchase on a new device, open Limit › Settings › Restore Subscriptions.
Yes. Limit is free to download and includes your first blocking session and your first app limit. Limit Pro unlocks unlimited sessions and app limits. Purchases are handled by Apple, and you can cancel a subscription anytime in your iPhone settings.
Yes. Next to apps and app categories, you can add websites to any block, and Limit blocks them in Safari too.
No. Blocking is done by iOS itself. Your screen time data never leaves your phone, and Limit can’t see what you do in other apps. Apple shares the apps you pick with Limit only as anonymous tokens.
Instead of the app, you see Limit’s block screen with a short nudge and a quote about time. Tap Close to go back.
Yes. Limit works on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 16.1 or later.
